Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering a piano in her attic and becoming enthralled by the music it could produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather than as a job. This led to her started writing songs of her own. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favorite songwriters. When her mother said that her songs would not just help her gain fame, however, they could also help others understand their value to the world and appreciate how they can benefit from them She decided to start singing in public. The piano was her first instrument at the age of six, and began creating music when she was nine. It was unknown to her family until she reached the age of fourteen. Aurora's fame was not her dream. According to her, she just enjoys writing songs. According to her, she believes that music can help any person feel better.
